Avid BB7, 203mm disk, Bafang BPM geared hub (ATF cooling, steel planetary gears), 15FET 45A controller, Cycle Analyst v3, 1.5kWh battery.

That looks really nice Marc. Tell us more about the Bafang hub with ATF cooling and steel planetary gears please. i think your rear mudguard would probably benefit from being longer.

The first image showed the setup in Summer 2017. To better cope with my 60km commute in 2018, it got a nose fairing and direct-drive hub with Statorade and HubSinks (second image).

The short mudguard is a 'design decision' and (thanks to the small rubber 'spoiler' at the end) perfectly able to keep dirt and water away.
Actually, its just long enough to prevent water or dirt getting flung on my head and shoulders. Without the little rubber thingy, it would be completely worthless, of course.

My latest build, on a steel Dawes 631 sportif. after some miles on an alloy Vitus Razor which I built in the summer past I felt a steel machine would be more forgiving on our rough tarmac.. the carbon bars and short stem are interim fitments.. and that battery has 20 amps.. more pics when it dries up outside..

Just fitted a Bafang Mid drive ti my tandem tricycle. We just need that extra bit of help with the hills. We are going to ride the Way of the Roses in a couple of weeks time so will be able to git it a good test. So far it is very good. We have been up couple of big hills with it and on reaching the top, we were not gasping for air and able to carry on cycling normally. We don't use it on the flat and the battery meter hasn't dropped one bar yet on any of the three rides we have done. All of them between 40 and 57 miles.

My BBS01 is nearly 5 years old and just gone through it's second controller failure, the controllers are small and prone to failure so have now ripped out the controller and electrics. Now I have fitted an exteranal 22a KT controller and associated electrics
and it is all up and running again now with uprated 700watts of power from the 22a controller.

The Motor in my latest machine has done about 1K miles at a guess , and i had heard a skuffle when i was about to place it back on this new frameset, i am using a converter for 110mm 50T ring so took this off and unscrewed the plate covering the gear mechanism where i found dried up blackened white [at one time] grease and a semi hardened build up on the plate itself which had been the source of the slight noise. did my best to wash out the crap with white spirit and blew the rest out with my airline,there was no fibre debris evident.. thank God. so made up some thickish liquid grease and poked as much as i could in the space around and in the gear wheels.. built it up again and when finished next day took a short ride maybe half a mile, the whole unit seems happier.. we'll see how it does on a 30 miler.. should it ever quit raining.. will

I had a quick look inside my Bafang mid drive at about 10,000 miles because I'd read about them being badly greased but it was floating in the stuff.

It's up to 20,000 or so now and I should probably take it off and strip it but it's working just fine with no untoward noises although slightly more 'whiney' now than when it was new.

Might simply buy another as a spare, the bike now owes me nothing (in fact I'm a few grand in pocket) so the cost of a spare motor isn't going to hurt.

I have a Dawes Audax with drops that I'd like to convert but wary of the crank conversion + how to mount the controls with drop handlebars.

Graham. OK its Planet X Monte sl frameset [by Fuji], imo i think its Fuji,just in last 2 weeks i have built maybe 7/8 Fuji out of their factory boxes and the PX is wrapped in exactly same way, same tapes, insulation, same wrap in exactly same positions on the frame so i guess its fair assumption that they had some input.. and its a stonking flam ruby metallic paint job.. hydraulic disc brakes at caliper but cable operated, with proper pukka s/s outer casings by velo orange, then liners and ss inner steel cabling.. 105 11 sp levers, pair of boardman 700 wheels, 6 bolt disc, going to have a decent set built as soon as my novatec hubs appear, 105 rear derailleur, 50t ring thick thin toothed. Bafang 7.5 w motor. Luna cycle display, and Luna torque rod at the underside of downtube..battery was built in Middlesborough, same guy provided the power unit last April,and he is very knowledgeable and helpful and has done many conversions, and good with prices also... pic attached of my bar arrangement.. will

latest updates on the new build, guards added ,bag reversed.. rack moved back, handlebar area changed, 180 mm disc front, different hyd calipers..new handbuilt wheels with disc novatec hubs..will
