Shimano Steps E6100 and Inter-5 Nexus

This 'new dedicated e-bike hub' gets a mention at the end of this intro to Shimano's latest e-drive.
Never 'eard of it, but there was a 5-speed introduced 5 years ago if this MTBR forum post is to be believed...
Anyone know what makes it e-bike compatible? Higher torque capacity, some sort of shock absorbing system, or divine faith?
