The Morpeth Electric Bicyle Company

Post by SteveGray »

Yesterday I visited Morpeth by train and E bike. By chance I found this e bike shop. It sells only e bikes from Raleigh, Lappiere and Haibike. I did not count those on display, but as many as I have seen anywhere under one roof.

Apart from one reduced Raleigh at £699 with a front hub motor, all have the superior (in my experience) crank drive systems.

There are several "Trekking" and urban bikes, low step through and crossbar and a good range of frame sizes.

Pete the owner, is friendly and knowledgable. He commutes on an e bike to the shop when he can.

Another plus for me at least is the absence of background "Music", Evans take note and others.

Pete's business partner Ian, runs the repair shop on the ground floor for all bikes.

It is good to see this independent bike shop set up. From what I saw and heard, they are well worth a visit to see a very good range of quality e bikes.

I have no financial or family ties with this business, just a report on my visit.
