I have had this e bike for some years now. Very good in every respect.
Last week suddenly on a hill climb, a "Clanking" noise appeared from the crank area. It is virtually gone with power turned off. Yes the motor would be obvious culprit I know. But one of the mechanics in Evan's noticed side to side play on the chainring. He thinks this is causing the problem. All it may need is the lockring tightened.epair is do
There is a serrated lockring securing the chainring to the crank. Evans do not have the required tool.
The internet has so far drawn a blank as well.
Does anybody have a Kalkhoff with a serrated lockring keeping the chainring secure ?. Maybe the same lockring is used for chain and belt drive I do not know. If so, do you know where I can buy the tool ?
I will not assume the motor is faulty until this simple adjustment is made.
Thanks

Kalkhoff Adattu With gates Belt Drive-Which Tool ?
Re: Kalkhoff Adattu With gates Belt Drive-Which Tool ?
Kalkhoff Agattu I meant to say.
Re: Kalkhoff Adattu With gates Belt Drive-Which Tool ?
Did the Evans mechanic not have the appropriate tool (not being a Kalkhoff dealer) then?
Re: Kalkhoff Adattu With gates Belt Drive-Which Tool ?
Did you ever find an answer to this?
My inherited Agattu (belt drive) has the same (or similar) issue, reading up on it suggests it’s the gears in the motor. I could replace the motor, which is apparently a reasonably easy job, but it’s not cheap!
