Hi guys, just bought a Giant Fathom e Pro 2 and only just noticed that the battery, although it fits into its connections/lock perfectly, the battery doesn’t seal properly against the frame. At the bottom where the battery terminals are the is a 5mm gap, the gasket also won’t seal and it just looks as water is going to spin off of the wheel and go straight into the terminals/motor. Anyone else had this issue?
Best regards
Lee

Did you buy the bike new?
It looks like there might have been a bit of a repair there....the paint finish is a bit ‘scratched’ and the black splash guard and seal look a little worn?
If new, a warranty issue.... if second hand.... more difficult.
Perhaps a bit of tape or old inner tube would cover gap?

following what last contri says if purchased used, has the previous owner fitted a speed dongle as my chum had a similar issue when we put his in,a road E plus ,you actually have to drop the motor a tad to get access and often it doesn't line up as it was because a wire or something is slightly askew, his were pushed up the down tube void, he had no h2o ingress issues but worked at it , tackled it again and got it reset as it should be.. will

That seal may have permanently deformed from being stuck in the wrong shape for a bit. I'd return the bike and get it sorted. May take a while for the dealer to get a replacement seal in though.
