Err.. probably, it was his mention of Wikipedia and Open Street Map that really interested me. The latter being of great interest to touring cyclists. Willing collaboration by everyone..

An expensive way to increase the range would be a second battery

Best way to increase range is use lowest power setting and riding with no assist when possible.

The range display on the purion reached zero after 80 miles with one bar showing. Still managed to get home.
Most of the 80 miles had been on eco with a few on off, engaging the odd tour or sport for inclines.
80K plus 25Kg bike.
Won’t take it so low next time, but it has given us confidence to plan some 50 mile routes.
