Carrera Subway 2 v Giant Escape 3 Disc 2021

Postby way2go » 9 Oct 2020, 8:49pm

Hi
I'm a rookie rider. Please could I get advice if I should buy a Carrera Subway 2 with hydraulic disk brakes v Carrera Subway 1 with mechanical disc brakes v Giant Escape Disc 3 2021 bike ?
I will use the bike to commute to work in the city and also occasionally do the road run for about 40- 50 miles every fortnight or atleast once a month.

Are you talking electric bike? It doesn't seem that Giant comes in an electric version. The older Subways and other Halfords bikes using the same system have a terrible reliability record; some people claim the new ones are better but there still seem to be quite a few issues. Search on www.pedelecs.co.uk
For electric you will probably do better with a bike from Woosh (https://wooshbikes.co.uk/) and even though they are mail order you will get better customer service too. Also look at Juicy, Wisper and Oxygen.
