Post by Sc77 »

I’m looking for advice in buying a battery for my folding Ebike folding bike. It’s a frog style 36v and £250ish new, can I buy Chinese copy of one, I font have loads to spend Is it false economy though?

Devil is in the detail of the sellers description/specs, though at £250 price appears about right. Usually it is the cheaper offerings one has to be a bit suspect of.
Be wary if it uses unnamed/unbranded or generic China cells.

For a good UK option try contacting Jimmy or one of the team at ebikebatteries.co.uk in N.London, he can re-cell the battery with better grade cells often cheaper then the cost of a new battery. Jimmy is a top battery man and many trade sellers use his services as well. Battery courier is laid on both at ends for collection and delivery.

If buying direct form China it may have extras added on the cost such as duty, vat & handling fees.

BEST of all, start pedaling! Ditch the battery.
