I'm a bit of an e-bike novice but I'm considering getting something on c2w. Our place uses the Halfords scheme so Tredz is the main source. I'm looking for a practical hybrid with guards, lights and rack. Budget 2.5k maximum but would like to stay close to 2 if possible. Any comments on the following?-
Haibike SDURO Trekking 1.0 2020

Help me out with a Tredz e-bike?
Re: Help me out with a Tredz e-bike?
You don't say what you want to use the bike for; that makes a big difference to what is suitable.
Beware with the proprietary electrical systems (eg Bosch, Shimano, ...). They are excellent and sophisticated systems, BUT replacement batteries will be very expensive. Though they are pretty reliable, if anything does go wrong it can be very expensive to get them fixed. For example, Bosch hardly provide any spares for their motors, and typically anything wrong after warranty may well mean a new motor for £800 or so (*). Also, often the old one has to be shipped back to Germany before the replacement is shipped out; this was bad enough pre-Brexit, not sure what happens now. With bikes using generic Chinese components repair will be much easier, and replacement much cheaper if it does become necessary.
That really is just a 'beware' for information, not an absolute 'don't buy' suggestion.
Also look at Woosh, I think he handles that Halfords c2w. You'll get a very practicable and maintainable bike for quite a lot less than those.
e.g. https://wooshbikes.co.uk/?gran-camino
Also Wisper and Juicy.
Availability is a big issue at the moment, from Woosh and from almost all other suppliers.
(*) There is a company Performance Line Bearings that has a good track record of third party fixing.

Re: Help me out with a Tredz e-bike?
For Woosh bikes one has to speak to the BOSS ladie regarding B2W schemes. Hattie is the nice lady to speak to as she deals with all bike sales, her OH Tony deals with the kits side of the business.

The bike looks alright but you'd think they could find a cleaner bit of floor to take the photos against and what's a maxle?
I am here. Where are you?
