Touring Holidays for e-Bikes

Post by mumbojumbo »

I used to organise CTC holidays overseas in Europe and USA. Would there be any demand for such trips catering for electric bikes and electric scooters, for reasons of inclusivity?Should the bikes carry the luggage of the scooter riders?

Personally I wouldn't expect to be treated differently as part of a riding group, but that may be driven by how I ride (light asisstance as necessary). I wouldn't feel the need to ride exclusively with other eBikers either.

The only thing I would want (on any tour) is the option to charge in the evenings. My other half might require a lunchtime charge too, so that would have to be taken into account, especially if the group had, say, 10 eBikes - but the lunch stop only has 4 plugs. Tricky!

Not quite sure what the scooter part means. Would someone really go touring without luggage, yet expect other riders to take it?
A backup vehicle for carting luggage from stop to stop - now that would work for everyone, not just scooterists.
