Aye well, he was refused homologation although he completed the ride - UAF PBP 2006. There's a clause in the rules about behaviour likely to bring the UAF into disrepute.

I often wondered afterwards if it wasn't my pic that earned him that.

He also earned a colossal dose of sunburn.

Finally got to see the rm101 in question. Have to say that i wasnt annoyed by it...and even have some sympathies with what he was saying.....being someone who rides at a sedate pace, avoiding race-style lycra if i can, and taking time to enjoy the scenery.

What’s the story there, Audax67? Were the straps rubbing his nipples raw or something?

I wear lycra but agree with the consensus opinion that it is ridiculous and slightly disgusting. A café in New Zealand made the news recently for banning it. I had every sympathy with them, even though they probably did it as a publicity stunt. Lycra is uncivilised and has no place in a good café.
