Seriously though, electromagnetic harvesting/near-field energy transfer is a possible solution to the problem.
MIT came up with the idea 10 years ago, even 3 years ago you could charge a bank of 40 mobile phones at once at a range of 5 metres though increasing the distance reduces the amount of charge by a lot.
Interchangeable battery could be situated at certain points on top of buildings and a system so you can drop and grab a new pack in a few seconds, thunderbird 2 style if you will.
