Consultation on Belfast Rapid Transport Bus lanes allowing Taxis: ends 12 Jan 2018!!

Post by SA_SA_SA »

It seems the NI Roads Service are aiming to allow Taxis in the schemes new Bus lanes, and a short consultaion ends on 12 Jan

Flexi buses are bad enough, why would cyclists want to share with taxis and their special taxi-standard of driving?

Utter madness, private hire motor vehicles shoulld have to lump it with the rest. Same as with many places that allow motorbikes in the lanes too.
Nobody gives a flying one about cycling, it's all waffle and BS!

Saw one plan, not realised, for a bus/taxi/cycle lane wider than normal (1.5 standard width?)

Not for me, I am sick of being endangered by the terrorists, prefer to use a cycle way on the pavement and go slowly

Trouble is, driving short distances and parking in town is still much too attractive :?

Tried driving once when the p******e fairy visited, took much longer than cycling, had to park 15 minutes walk away too

Cycling-of course, but it is far better on a Gillott
