Heard and read a bit about this lately
Apparently it is really convenient, for four people cheaper and quicker than using the tube
Even for one person, if enough vehicles are available and scattered about it will probably be the fastest way even for short trips, quite cheap, makes driving attractive for those who might otherwise cycle or walk or go by tram!
I started to realise it was a greenwash (or not even that?) when I read that 'sports cars' were available to share
Great business for the motor industry, even more even uglier vehicles can be produced to stand around disfiguring the streets. Electric vehicles should last better than ic ones mind, maybe soon there will be enough cars

Re: Car-sharing: MinusPlus?
Car sharing saves money so can increase car use, see Uber success. Private hire car growth in London is well aligned with introduction of Uber.
Re: Car-sharing: MinusPlus?
What sort of car sharing are you talking about? There are commercial shared taxis like Slide: http://www.slidebristol.com A fairly new thing in Britain but normal in many parts of the world, 'maxi-taxi'.
There are people meeting up at eg motorway service stations to share a car for a particular journey (colleagues and so on). There are separate households deciding to share one car between them. And doubtless others forms too.
