This is a query about local campaigning knowledge (I think.) The A1 has now been converted to motorway status between Ferrybridge on the M62 and the North East. Along most of the new A1(M) a more or less parallel route has been preserved for prohibited traffic including pedal cycles. However, this isn't really so between J49 and J50.
I'm not saying that there's no route at all, but it's a bit like something described by Eddie (mark Benton) in Early Doors.
Does anybody from out that way know anything of the history to this?
