Second National Funeral for the Unknown Cyclist - Sat 7 Sep 2019

Postby gaz » 7 Sep 2019, 10:27pm

Another well organised event from Stop Killing Cyclists. Numbers seemed to be down on last year. Possibly a result of the current political climate, there were a number of other protests in London today and people can't be in two places at once.

Assembled at Lincoln's Inn Fields, walking pace procession behind the hearses to Trafalgar Square for the die-in.

Speeches begin

Then on through Admiralty Arch to the Wellington monument for the speeches calling for £6bn funding per year for cycle infrastructure, an end to car culture and the restoration of the fuel duty escalator. Have to confess that I left early (preaching to the converted) so missed Roger Geffen.
