Actually if you look at a satellite image, the %age of a golf course which is manicured is very small. Essentially it's just the greens and the main issue there is the run-off of any chemicals they use on the grass. The fairways are mown to different heights which creates a number of different micro-habitats for a wide variety of wildlife. Golf course are often very good habitats for wildlife.

I'm aware of that, though it's still manicuring of large areas of the landscape for what are only a few people to play a game.TM mentions football stadia and cricket pitches, but their use per head are small by comparison.

It's more about ending the commercial football game and hopefully the now year long discussions on it at work and other social places!! I am possibly not the only one who would like to see the end of the professional game leaving only those Sunday leagues and school teams?!!! :D

Nope! All from me.

His mother actually has a sneaky support for Corbyn!!! Although she finds it a very sad indication of the labour party that it has never had a female leader. It's always middle aged men!! Even Blair was headed that way when he got power!!!

It's not the pro game but the amount of money in it that's the problem.
If idiots are willing to pay stupid season ticket prices to watch it and join in the equally stupid tribal warfare, there's not a lot can be done and the silly money advertising follows on from that.
All pro sport has a very unhealthy side to it that's governed by money/prestige,it's become an industry which is sad on so many levels :?

12 000 square metres in all, seems an awful lot, not to mention the four-legged friends, domesticated and otherwise

Not measured the whole periphery of the place, to check the exact size, though the deeds show a rough map.
We, and the farmer with his fields, or the neighbour's woodlands aren't delineated to the inch or even to the foot. Very little fencing, and broad wide Cornish banks ............ but who cares?

No footpaths here, but our neighbours and us are happy to stray a bit, and so is Sailor the doggie. :D

He's not found one he likes but to be fair he's 7 there's not really been many to like in the last year or so he's been looking. I think I agree with him.

Can you name any to admire in the last year?

Without tribalism there's no loyal suckers to stiff. No suckers then not the same money making possibilities. If you blame the money you're really blaming a symptom of the lunacy of football tribalism.
