Cycleclips Newsletter
Whatever happened to Cycleclips? I haven't had one for months, possibly years. I checked my online membership account details and it shows my correct e-mail and that I have opted in to the newsletter. The e-mails have not gone to my spam folder.
Should I be getting the newsletter, or don't they do it anymore?

Thanks PH, at least that confirms it still exists!
I use gmail and have also checked my 'blocked messages, list, but no sign of it.
I'll have to contact cycling uk I guess.

I haven’t received one for ages either, in fact I’d forgotten it existed.

Never seem to get mine either, even though I am, as others signed up for such.

I contacted membership@cyclinguk.org first thing this morning. Not so much as an automated acknowledgement message so far.

CycleClips lists cycling@cyclinguk.org as the contact email in the blurb at the end of the newsletter.

Thanks, I'll give that a try also. The membership@ address is given on the website page for membership and benefit enquiries.

Re: Cycleclips Newsletter
I'v had an instant automated response from the cycling@cycling address telling me they'll respond within 24hrs, which is good, but still no response from the membership@ address I found on the website. So either my message was ignored or the address information is incorrect, either of which are very poor show.
I also notice that both the automated response, and the topic reply notifications I get on my google account, go to spam despite my clicking on 'not spam' each time.
I'll keep you posted as to how I get on.

Re: Cycleclips Newsletter 5 Feb 21 - Towing a cyclist
Today's Cycleclips contains two items about towing a cyclist: towing a tired child, and being towed by dogs. As a matter of safety it should always be possible for a towed cyclist to release the line in emergency, when the tow-line is about to pull the towed rider off or pull them into some collision. Club cyclists worked out many decades ago how to do this (for example, when helping a clubmate unable fo propel his machine because of a mechanical problem). The line is passed round the right hand side of the handlebar stem and then clamped between the riders left hand and the left handlebar grip (or the opposite way round). The line does not turn the handlebar during towing, but can be let go instantly.
It might not be a good idea to let a dog team off the leash, though!

I've always found that pushing with a hand in the small of the back works better.
I did my first riding as a teenager with a group of friends. We once set out to ride 84 miles to North Wales from Cheshire. One of the lads had had enough by 50 miles, and the stronger riders were trying to tow him with a scarf tied to his bars. Luckily our equipment van came by at that point, with some of the rest of our party
