Re: Farm Lane Compton Greenfield- Cycle works

I was only vaguely aware of these works, although I did go down Hollywood Lane in the summer and noted the changes to the junction at the bottom, including the completely pointless left filter. It's many years since I've ridden the entire length of Farm Lane as it doesn't go anywhere much that I want to go; if I'm heading to the bridge, I'll either go through Easter Compton and Pilning or more likely a completely different route through Olveston. I've yet to see the new motorway junction, though I did hear yesterday that the decision has been taken to connect it to something...

Mixed feelings about closing Hollywood Lane. It's good that you'll be less likely to meet wide vehicles (cars) heading up as you rush down and blundering down as you struggle up, but it's bad that it probably heralds the end of maintenance there and the inevitable deterioration of the surface. On balance I think it's good though as removing through motor traffic from narrow roads is good.
