Regulation 14 Consultation support

Post by hampshire19 »

Hello,

My local council (Yateley, Hampshire) have published a neighbourhood
plan listing out all of the infrastructure improvements that will be
implemented up to 2032. The draft plan contains token provision for
cycle lanes which is not enough for the long term needs of the town.

Is there anybody I can consult with who can give me pointers on how to
actually review such plans and give my feedback in such a way that the
council actually follows the feedback and makes any necessary
amendments in the plan.

Thank you in advance.

A good starting point would be the new national design guide for cycling infrastructure, LTN 1/20, published last year by the Department of Transport. This, for once, is excellent, and has teeth in that the present government policy is that a local authority will not receive any additional infrastructure funding unless these standards are observed.
