The real danger of going from pushbike to motorbike is the vastly increased weigth pof the Motor part of the bike.

Many mbike accidents (broken legs) occur through the machine falling on the individual, even when it is perched on its stand, and quite stationary.

If a pushbike falls on you, you jump up and swear; if an mBike falls on you you might not get up.

Motorcycles do seem extremely cumbersome to handle to me as you say. Even a moped is massively heavier than a bicycle. An extra heavy thing to hit you should there be a crash!

The lightness of the bike keeps you out of harm's way given an intelligent approach to avoiding marauding motorists.

Say no to global warming and depletion of fossil fuels.
