The effect of the Disability Discrimination Act on Public Tr

Post by gar »

Ben's questionnaire does reveal one fact which has probably escaped the attention of the CTC public Lobbying officers.

The DDA act 1995 updates the DDA act 1996 to
require provision of facilities (quite detailed) for the disabled.

Whilst Cyclists are usually very far from being disabled, and probably do not have much time to think about such things, has CTC considered examining the new Laws to see how they can use the new act to ensure continued good provision for the cyclist, and NEW provision
for the cyclist on services such as National Express?

I intended to say the DDA ACT2005 above not 1995.

DDA 2005 is much more extensive and covers
disability requirements on public transport, previously untouched by the law.
