I like the old transfer/badge as well. I remember being given a water slide FREE when I first joined up in the early 1980s. However I am a little confused. Are you going to put a motion to the AGM Karen to force the issue (no pun intended) of CTC providing them or are you satisfied that other entrepreneures will take up the slack. Note this is not a criticism of you - just trying to clarify the situation.

I don't think a motion would succeed. This is based on the total rejection of motions concerning the Winged Wheel at previous AGMs. With the Charity Resolution coming up I also don't think any other motions will get much attention. I will approach National Office first, to find out whether there is any objection to us getting the merchandise made ourselves; based on the fact that the CTC are not going to supply them. Then we'll take it from there.

The National Clarion has a very old badge which I note is also hard to find on their website. I eventually found it via this link: http://clarioncc.org/Index.html
That surprises me as I would have thought they would display their heritage proudly. I can't imagine them ever having a new 'logo.'

Just out of interest I used to have some waterslide transfers for work. Set-up charge for a 3-colour A4 sized sheet was £600+, after that each A4 sheet cost about £10.

I wonder how much it would cost to get these remanufactured. About 3 inch diameter, chrome on thick brass with enamel - far too pretty to leave unattended on a car's grille. It may just find its way onto the vintage Rover for special outings (either the two-wheeled or four-wheeled one) Steve

Well, I'm collecting some sample badges at the CTC AGM tomorrow. The CTC Marketing Manager seems sympathetic to our cause. watch this space

I've got the sample badges but am a bit dissapointed.

there are two cloth winged wheel badges. They are the black and yellow ones. Also a pin on badge. It is 18mm diameter, it has a 2mm gold border, and within it is dark blue with gold wings and spokes. The letters CTC are plain capitals, not gothic script.

I'll take photos of these and my own badge (circa 1980) later, then try to post them. I myself prefer the older pin on badge. This is 22mm in diameter, has a 3mm white, gold edged border. Within the boder are the words CYCLISTS' TOURING CLUB in plain capitals. It has dark blue centre with gold wings/spokes. The letters CTC are Gothic script in gold.

Here are the badges I currently have. the metal pin on badge with the white border is my owm. The others came from National Office.

My first reaction was " Ooooh - I must get one!" .... but P&P is £4 which seems a bit much.

They are being offered by H Lloyd's, so I am assuming it is the end of the run of decals mentioned many years ago further up this thread, unless there's been a recent office clear-out in the Guildford area!
