Crazy
Anyone else seen this on the news today? Caught using helmet cam footage from a cyclist.

https://www.northantstelegraph.co.uk/news/crime/ru...

A police officer from that force on twitter said they send footage off to experts to calculate the speed, apparently it was a 40 page report.

https://twitter.com/northants_rpu/status/120731747...

Does anyone know exactly how they calculate it? Presumably it’s a very clever piece of computer software?

Complete link (I guess it's this one? ;) ) https://www.northantstelegraph.co.uk/news/crime/rushden-motorist-caught-overtaking-cyclist-90mph-30mph-zone-1344510

Not a fatality fortunately but deliberately drove me off the road https://www.stroudnewsandjournal.co.uk/ ... ad-stroud/
CPS accepted a guilty plea for careless driving rather than persue a dangerous driving charge. Yes he got a ban but only due to already having 6 points.

That guy really did deserve the book throwing at him.

@reohn2, do you know the maximum sentence for his offence? (my googling was ... a little confusing ...)

Both parents high ranking police officers. Anyone else think this stinks?

Judge tells driver who killed girl, 8, that her death could have been avoided if he wasn't driving at 'grossly excessive speed'

Driving at 50 in a 30. Busy roads, pedestrians, sees a pedestrian, instead of braking, beeps horn and swerves. Kills an 8 year old girl. The report suggests that they then told lie after lie to the police about the circumstances before pleading guilty to causing death by dangerous driving.

Jail for 3 years 4 months, driving ban for 4 years 8 months.
