agreed, it was not unusual to see someone on our local football stadium car park having a lesson, while in another corner parents would be teaching their kids to ride their bikes.

What I find most interesting / chilling is the lack of custodial sentence for the other 5 drivers who "merely" carelessly killed a cyclist . The presence/absence of a licence seems trivial in comparison.

So from those sentences, we can assume that the courts actually do see a driving licence as a licence to kill.
Chilling, but hardly surprising, that if we want justice we cannot rely on the courts.
