Did you put 17 in? The usual way they are supposed to work is leave one, take one.

No, I just took 17, is that against the rules? Had a bit of luck on the way home, found a bookcase waiting for Mr Steptoe
The Little Free Library is quite full actually and there are two more nearby
I have donated books occasionally, if I have more than one copy

All the ones I've encountered ask you to leave a book if you take one. If people just take it won't be a library for very long. If you use them regularly there's scope for a bit of flexibility as long as your overall leaving of books more-or-less matches your taking.

Out for a ride with my wife yesterday, we passed an elderly couple on a tandem trike. The frameset was in a beautiful deep tomato soup red with black lettering. And the name on it was Longstaff. It looked in perfect condition and when I expressed my admiration I was told it was the last one! Don't Longstaff still make tandem trikes, or did they mean that it was the last one made by George himself? Either way, it did look classy.

Thanks to Furlough and the glorious weather I've just achieved my highest monthly mileage since my records began - and I've got pretty reasonable records going back to the 1980s. (My commuting whilst on Student placement in Cheshire still wins.) Little and often has been the key, having managed to go out virtually every day for between 10 to 30 miles. Lovely weather, lovely countryside.
Judging by the higher than ever number of people cycling I've been seeing in the Vale of Belvoir during the lockdown, I doubt if I'm the only one in such a happy (cycling) position.

The red bike is a Humber (I found out) with unusual duplex forks with a twin plate crown.
A bit more information here on the lovely bike blog

I wonder if it's cross-bar was lengthened for a window cleaner to wheel around, or for 'comic effect' in more recent times, the modification could perhaps best be described as rudimentary...
The blue bike looks like a Raleigh trade bike with the small front wheel, but I think it might be a bit of a lash-up with the modern looking stem and the guano welding for the madly long front basket carrier.
A cheerful effect nonetheless, and clever the way the sign writing matches the colour of the flowers.

Sitting at the window with my porridge
A horde of kiddies are playing nearby
I can hear but not see them, screeching and squealing, a beautiful sound

Apparently 'too many' books are donated to this one, someone keeps the excess in a storeroom until there is room on the shelves, so I guess I was helping by taking 17
Had a better look at the books back home, a couple were not so interesting so I re-donated them
