No no, the bears were teddies in the museum, there are no bears here (I think) but there are lots of wild pigs, one sees where they have dug up the ground
They are nocturnal (I think)

Had a great ride into work this morning, even better ride home even though it was raining. Just about got home with enough light left to make leaving my main light at home bearable. 36.8 miles today. 2650 miles YTD so far. Hoping for 3000 this year after reckoning 2200 would be the yearly goal!

Re: A positive thread
The day started with a puncture, whilst fixing it a tyre lever snapped. Then a driveside spoke pinged at the elbow.
The journey in to work involved an ignorant driver of a Met Police horsebox. The journey home had one oncoming driver on the wrong side of the road and a few other close encounters.
I'm positive tomorrow will be better.

Just read the thread about *controlling* children
Reminded me of cycling with the children many years ago, not much need to control them in the school yard or by the river, +99

I just bought a calendar for 2018, started noting events in it, I hope to make it into the 2040s
Actually I thought I had already bought one in the summer but I could not find it so I bought another

Re: A positive thread
Just made lentil soup again, enough for tomorrow too
I buy the lentils, parsnips, onions etc and cook from scratch
One may buy lentil soup in a tin, I wonder how it compares with homemade
- this lentil soup is lovely! Did you open the tin yourself?

Agreeable November weather, it is almost light now at lunchtime
Going for a little ride to get the paper, then a loop along the canal and to bed soon after dark
I often wonder whether we should hibernate in winter (not in summer of course%))

I often use the canal towpath for part of my commute and enjoy the bird life. There are lots of mallards and moorhens, some goosanders and tufted ducks, a couple of cormorants at this time of year, a heron, and a resident pair of swans that successfully bring up 5-6 cygnets each year. Today however was special as I saw a kingfisher - only the second time I've seen one in the last three years. Its iridescent colours were just lovely and really stood out in the wet and windy weather.

Yes a great show with jack hargreaves, jon miller and bunty something. Dineage acted as the buffoon to some degree. Jack hargreaves, who tended to get fascinated looking at old tools while having a good draw on his pipe( ), went on to do "Out of town" where iirc he had a gypsy caravan and a small dog.
They sort of resurrected "how" a couple of decades or so back with gaz top on board.
Fred dineage was on tv a few weeks ago talking about the krays whom he wrote the biographies of.

Oo, lucky! I've only seen one a couple of times in my life.
