Went to a lecture about a *forgotten* battle that took place in January 1225, no-one knows exactly when or where

Apparently not many were killed, one tried to take prisoners instead back then, +1!

Not quite right - they tried to take wealthy opponents prisoners so they could ransom them and make a few bob. The ordinary guys were just killed-off, not worth anything. Unless you wanted to enslave them or sell them as slaves.

The professor showed a picture, looked a bit like a civilised ceremonial jousting tournament, the battle was *bei Moelln*, near Moelln, but the battle site has never been found and there are at least two places called Moelln
The whole thing seems to be somewhere between stories and history

Used to see a real dalmatian on the way to work, and Methuselam, my favourite dog, he is so old he does not bark or run around, just stands still thinking

Saw a cyclist on the phone, I rang my bell loudly to disturb the conversation and I shouted, she put it in her pocket (not sure whether she turned it off mind)

Saw a safety camera light flash, +1!

Great cycling weather, grey and rainy but not really wet, not many other cyclists about

Saw a film about an old lady who had to go into a senior institution. She took up tricycling and enjoyed a few more good years, +3

Couldn't find a negative thread so..

I do dislike driving in the winter, the windows are misted over and the car takes a while to warm up, one might even have to run the engine for a while before setting off. Just been driving cos I was too lazy to cycle, grr

Cycling in winter is so much better

Went for a ride by the canal and stopped to watch the trains for a while

My gaze rested for a moment on my new front lamp bracket, it cost € 2,49. I realised that I have bought nothing else for my bike this year. I have cycled nearly 1800 km, how cheap is that?

Further, I broke the bracket through carelessness while putting my bike into the car. As usual, the motor vehicle caused the trouble %-(

New changing facility for cyclists inaugurated at work this week.

Lockers, showers, drying cabinets for wet stuff.

Brilliant!

Went cycling Sunday to see an exhibition about Christmas presents in history, only 14 km each way

Back then children whose parents were rich got presents, teddies were status symbols for the whole family. Often the teddies were made by poor children for a few pence

It was quite cold so I had to keep moving, but there were not many other cyclists about, +1

Did a loop through the woods at the end, lots of people were out walking, - 1
