Marching bands are popular in Germany, I rather like them though they are a bit military,+1

Most primary schools in Norway have marching bands. It's not at all military, though HM Royal Guards also have a very good marching band.

Lovely ride today through the Hampshire countryside. At one stage, not far after I started out a car started to overtake in a bit of a daft spot and as I expected another car came from the opposite direction just as the overtake was underway. My overtaker decided to abort just as she was level with me and started to cut in, so to make sure she new I was there I shouted out "whoa"...and then, well here's the thing, the unbelievable happened, she shouted out "sorry" through the open car window! Never had that before.

Cherry time again

Just picked the first wild cherries yesterday, untreated and delicious. I will be eating too many of them for the next couple of weeks

Later there will be apples and plums. Can't decide which I like best :P

Went outside this morning and noticed the sun is significantly lower, the days have been getting shorter for a while

Soon it will be November, the best cycling month

+2!

I stayed in central Reading last weekend. Large number of cyclists cycling in "ordinary" clothes and on "ordinary" bikes. Demonstrates what happens when motor vehicles are reduced and slowed down. :D

Went out for the first time ever with a bike-borne mirror yesterday. Hadn't realised it would be such a confidence booster - far fewer surprises from behind!

Took my grandson to the IWM Duxford to day.
Had a wonderful day, despite the rain.

You suddenly realise how old you are when you are part of a museum.
The aircraft I worked on, the people I worked with, are featured in the museum.
I crossed a few barriers and stroked a few radomes.
And held a few tears back..well tried too ...

Strange day, but good day ..... :D
But such a positive day ........ thank you OP ...

Indeed, the plums are ripe and the blackberries are plentiful on my commute. Have little hope of finding a crumble mine, the geology of the area isn't well suited  .
