Dont cycle in London as the police dont care if you get knocked off

Postby mercalia » 24 Feb 2017, 12:54pm

as if you get knocked off the cops may not prosecute.
"The Metropolitan police has been criticised for failing to prosecute a London van driver for careless driving after he knocked a cyclist off her bike. Cycling UK commented: "If this represents Met Police policy they might as well say that they are just not bothered about careless driving, as long as nobody suffers a life changing injury."

video here - the ES also has the video but I found it hard to get it to work.

shocking video as the van just before pushed a black cab off the road over taking a bus on the left :!:

If this is to change there needs to be publicity. It's IMHO good that the newspaper published it.

EDIT: Why is the identifying information from the van censored in the video?

That's a sickening video. I hope the Met respond.

That is surely cut an dried.

Failure to stop at least...
Maybe we need a 'causing a collision' a-la-F1
A shortcut has to be a challenge, otherwise it would just be the way. No situation is so dire that panic cannot make it worse.
There are two kinds of people in this world: those can extrapolate from incomplete data.

To add to the van driver being prosecuted the Met police/CPS also need prosecuting for malfeasence in public office. It would be a different story if one of their own had been cycling.

Speaking of which the officer in charge of the team murdering the innocent Brazilian on the tube has been promoted to lead the Met.

Up to now I only knew the "Toyota Cressida". Has she got a record on motor crime, what can you tell us about her, how might she be different from HoHo?

Like many others here maybe, I knew London quite well many years ago..

The van driver is clearly out of control, he only managed to avipoid the bus at the start of the clip because the taxi driver slowed up and pulled over. The van driver should be off the road and the Met Police are, as mentioned in earlier post, just not carrying out their duty. There appear to be plenty of witnesses, there is no excuse here at all.

The Brazilian was NOT murdered, murder is a legal term with specific preconditions. Being unlawfully killed due to police error does not constitute murder.
Having said that I am less than content with the choice of Ms Dicks for reasons other than the incident involving the Brazilian.
