I wouldn't argue with you, just going by how my mum taught me back in the 1960s (I'm from near Barnsley).

My Yorkshire born Mother would add that the best Yorkshire Puddings were made with snow!

Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.

*God's Own Country* has been voted the best debut film of the year

It is set in rural north Yorkshire where the language is as rough as the weather

The main recreations are drinking too much alcohol and going to livestock auctions

The actors spent time on a real farm dealing with calvings, dead animals, mucking out and the like

Can't wait to see it

I gather it's like Brokeback Mountain with Pot Noodle.

Born in Thurnscoe (1956), moved to Bolton on Dearne when I was 4.

Went to Wath Grammar School from 1967 to 1974. I knew quite a few kids at school from the Monk Bretton area.

I fry them in a pan with sunflower oil

I guess Yorkshire Puddings contain more air too

Was looking to post the Britney thing as in:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-yo ... e-42789829

(pretty sure the beeb has edited that story - could swear that initially there was a somewhat doubtful/sarky caption of someone bathing betwixt a blue blue sea and blue blue sky.

but then google also threw up this wondrous headline:

Haven't seen it yet, it's a queer thing, the most interesting films are unpopular, or is it just me?

Wednesday is Yorkshire Day, how might one celebrate?

In Barnsley it would be celebrated by drinking 10 pints of John Smith's.
