From Deganwy, you are on roads until Rhos on Sea and then it is off road all the way to the end of Prestatyn Golf Course. If you go ahead through the holiday camp to Talacre, then you will be on the A548 for about 8miles till Bagillt, when you can parallel the A548. It's not too bad for traffic, depending on time of day. If you really must avoid the A548, then from the end of the golf course, go right, cross the A548 and go up Gronant Hill on NCN5. Follow the signs for NCN5, go past my house ( :) )and eventually drop into Bagillt and then parallel the A548 for a couple of miles. This is a hilly route and is quite hard for the first few miles, but it has fantastic views to Snowdonia, the Pennines, the Lake District and all of Liverpool Bay. If the weather is good, it is worth the effort.

Hope this helps.
