I know the victim was not a cyclist, as if that matters anyway, but it could have been.
This driver was not charged with Manslaughter and I know, before anyone reminds me the offence of CDTCD applies here. This as an example illustrates the inequality that exists between "vulnerable" road users and those who present most risk to others. I do not think this outcome is in any way related to Public Interest.
Ironically when it comes to the cyclist who was prosecuted for Manslaughter it seems clear that this represents a closer focus on the interests of vulnerable road users.
So simplify UK law so that if anyone happens to kill someone else through whatever means, Manslaughter is the charge one will face at minimum.
Surely a heanous mismatch of standards
Commuting, Day rides, Audax, Incidents, etc.
