Belgian Audax rides for late 2017 and 2018

Below is the Belgian Audax calander from now until late 2018.

Things to note -
* For the 200,300 and 400kms rides, there's no need to pre-book. Just turn up and pay €5/6/7
* Then fill in a form, which the organisers supply. Then ride....
* Saturday, zaterdag, samedi
* Tervuren(I run these!), Ternat and Alderlecht are very close to Brussels - dead easy to get to with the Eurostar. £20 for a bike, each way.
* 23/06 is Brussels - Paris - Brussels. A wonderful 600kms ride.
* 06/09 is "BOB", Borders of Belgium that follows the circumference of the country. Another little gem, at 1000kms.

Do Belgiums not do 100kms? I was considering going over there next year for a very leisurely mini tour...a 100 might have fitted in nicely.

If you just want a 100k ride there are also randonees of varying distances - just turn up, enter and ride.

Not Belgium but I can recommend the Dieppe Tour 100k. It is a really good ride and so well organised and we will be there next year. Not an exact reply but hope it give food for thought.

100km rides tend to be covered by clubs. These vary in speed and difficulty, ranging from 20km average with a coffee stop to crazy 30-35km average with a car behind, wheels on the top, people shouting out of the windows and if you are too slow, tough, you will be dropped. All very serious.

The audax, or randonneurs, community is surprisingly small. There are only about 100 regulars.

BTW yes, the Flanders rides are flat (but windy). I did a Lier one and in 200km we climbed...drum roll...78m. Don't be fooled that all the country is like this.

There's a few there that look tempting, I haven't done an Audax outside the UK and would like to try something different.
Can you get a routsheet or GPX file in advance?

Both the paper and GPS routes are on the website a few weeks before the event.
