Audax - Avon Cycleway
Audax - Avon Cycleway
So, anyone doing it? Temperature on Saturday is going to make it quite interesting!
Re: Audax - Avon Cycleway
There are folk out there who will be doing more uncomfortable things in the hot weather. If it is still hot. I was talking to a lady who works in a kitchen which gets too hot in normal weather. Compared to that cycling is a breeze, literally. It is only when climbing or when you stop that you overheat. It's easier than hill walking in the heat.
Where does that ride go?
Where does that ride go?
Re: Audax - Avon Cycleway
It pretty much follows this.

I tend to ride it about once a year, last time a couple of months ago. A mixture and Somerset flatlands, a bit of coast past Clevedon, some industrial bits crossing the M5 and past Avonmouth, following the Severn, across a bit of common, a section of the Bath/Bristol Railway path, some hills between Saltford and Bristol Airtport.
As for the weather it's lovely.

Re: Audax - Avon Cycleway
It does a full loop of Bristol following, in the main, the Avon Cycleway with a few alterations where the organisers have worked out better routes I think.
Re: Audax - Avon Cycleway
What sort of time should I expect to see people going through Pill/Easton-in-Gordano?
Re: Audax - Avon Cycleway
I guess I’m going to be going through about 12 ish... but I’m slow!
Re: Audax - Avon Cycleway
Thanks!
