Hello, as Saturday was pretty narstie weather-wise I decided to go for a long walk instead of a long bike ride and recorded my year in cycling.

About 600km (372mi) short atm - it's gonna be tight but weather permitting it's doable! :D

Sadly not this year, a broken bone in foot right in the middle of the summer kiboshed it.

Sorry to hear that, I hope it heals for you soon in plenty of time for next season!

I was due to ride an Audax last Saturday but it was really blowing and as it did a loop up to Gloucester and back across the Severn bridge I didn't fancy getting stuck in Wales if the bridge was shut due to the wind.
Went back to bed and rode the course on Sunday instead 190 km.
Did 60 miles this morning and that's taken me over 11,000 mi!es for the year so far.

I believe the cycle track / footpath remains open even when the m48 is shut. May be prudent to push in such circumstances though!

Interesting to know although but probably academic in my case. Really strong winds are about the only conditions that will stoop me from riding.

Likewise here. Not much over 2,500 miles for this year.

Impressive stuff over 10,000 miles is some mileage. The other day I watched a film called Bicycle which featured a guy aged 79 who was still churning out 7,000 miles a year, it certainly gave me a kick up the backside to put some serious miles in, in the New Year.

Currently on 10,161 miles for the year, mostly on the Isle of Wight.
