She's home. She's a teacher at the senior school and there's children there that have to stay overnight. Daughter1 thinks she'll be snowed in overnight and tomorrow.

She's made it home too, and with her car as well.

Nowt here now.
All gone, just chilly and damp.

First thing I did was to go outside and see the frost by the light of the outside lights. Temp was +1degC
By 7.30, it was raining and the temp was up to +3degC.
Rain gone now, and it's +4degC and cloudy, but I understand that the temp will drop quite a bit by lunchtime and we may get some snow this afternoon.
I remain to be convinced.

Oh ye of little faith (in the Met Office)!

Sometimes I think that God is working to a plan
Other times I fear that he is im-pro-vising, discordant and remote

Headed off to work this morning on my bike. Got to the top of Penpillick hill and two cars where abandoned, the road was covered in ice. Rang work and turned around to go home. I've never descended Penpillick hill so slowly. Rather annoying ringing work as I only started there two weeks ago.

Snow everywhere(?) except here. The snow that did fall, thawed, then overnight has frozen.
Black ice out there now. 1degC.

Despite the "arctic" weather, spring has sprung and baby rabbits are out and about.
Nellie, our hunter cat, has obviously eaten one in the kitchen overnight. A couple of small bits of pelt left on the doormat tell the story.

She can get through a rabbit or two a day as the spring and summer progress.

It's not too bad in Par, when I rang work in Bodmin they said the roads are awful. As I said it was pretty poor at the top of Penpillick. Son's school (Fowey) is closed today.

Looking at the news websites this morning, I found this:

Fowey not listed.

Fowey River Academy's website says it is.

So does piratefm's website

Why can't we have a joined-up news system?
Don't they talk to each other?

As for schools .........
Coads Green primary school yesterday, one little lad had to go home with his teacher for the night due to his parents not being able to get out to collect him.

Camelford senior school last evening had pupils staying the night, and fish and chips were supplied! :D
