Easyrider solution

Post by foxyrider »

With a nod towards acclimatising ready for a big ride on it next month, i've had the Airnimal Chameleon out this week. Nothing really exciting about that but something i've noticed over the couple of hundred kilometres I've ridden is that it seems to accelerate more quickly than the 700 wheeled machines. Can't think why, the position and bike weight is similar to what i've been riding, the only real difference is the 175 cranks, all the other bikes have 172.5.

Any thoughts?
Convention? what's that then?

The wheels are smaller and probably lighter so there’s less rotating mass to accelerate and therefore you accelerate quicker for the same effort.

Smaller wheeled bikes accelerate quicker but have a higher rolling resistance.
