So, what are the rules, legal responsibilities and rights etc when traffic lights do not register my presence? A set of lights near me refuse to change even when I make an effort to ride over the sensors. It's very bad as you would expect on my carbon bike but still very frustrating on my steel genesis. Often I have no choice but to make my way across against a red light.
Cheers
Tim
Ps i have complained to the council twice with no response.

Re: Traffic lights not changing
I have two sets of lights locally that don't register the presence of a steel framed bike. One requires me to ride out a bit further in the road to trigger the sensor, which I do. Sorted. The other won't see me whatever i do. So if it is a very quiet time of day with no traffic to trigger it for me (I've been there at 5am) I go through on red, very carefully. As a last resort.
I imagine those on bikes with little metal have even more of an issue with this.
