Any City/Holborn cyclists here ?

Who might know what they are doing to St Bride's/Shoe Lane ? Presumably there was a consultation with the local LCC group.

It has been a nice quiet street that was no-through (except for cycles) from the road that comes off Blackfriars Bridge - it took you out of the traffic and straight up to Holborn Circus.

Now they seem to be making it a through road, which will be extremely busy, and for the moment it is virtually impassable because of the roadworks.

I was amused though by the contractors' sign when they blocked off the cycle access - instead of a diversion or allowing a few feet at one side it ordered us to dismount and use the footpath. Can anybody report seeing a sign telling motorists to get out and push ?
