Rode into a car

What the title says. I did this last Monday.
Thought I'd put this here by way of a confession. There were maybe some mitigating circumstances, but shouldn't have happened and I can't believe I did it.
Shortened my Thorn Mercury by half a meter, forks mangled, downtube not straight, front wheel not sounding right. I'm about to see if three years of TSB insurance premiums have been worth paying.
Proper face plant, broke my nose and lots of blood, managed to tear myself an extra nostril, and I'm on soup and mashed banana for a while. Also managed to hurt my knee, only soft tissue, but it's annoying, keeping me awake at night and away from work. Otherwise healing fine and I'll have some new scars to add character.
Driver didn't stop, well stopped, saw me in he road and shot off, that's pissed me off more than anything, why would anyone leave someone in the road? It's knocked me back, just makes me despair.
Plenty of other kindness from strangers. cyclist behind stopped, called ambulance stayed. Passing nurse stopped and helped stem the blood. People came out from the house, looked after the bike and later took it home for me, got me a chair and a brolly to keep the sun off. The ambulance and hospital staff were first class, what more can I say, I don't often come into contact with these people (Thankfully) but every time I have done I've been impressed.
Bugger.

He probably knows how aggressive cyclists are when it comes to litigation .... ruins his no claims but has no effect on the cyclist .... runaway !!!

So sorry to hear of your accident - can't fathom why anyone would just drive off, having seen a fellow human being in a state... awful.
Get well soon.

Yes, there's good reason leaving the scene is treated harshly when caught!

Get well soon - that's the main thing. A bike can be replaced.

Wishing you a speedy recovery PH.
I’m raging that someone just drives off. Definitely had something to hide methinks.
