well I went on the Waterlink Way this afternoon starting from Beckenham. not impressed esp as it gets closer to Greenwhich. I think I will have tell the Guardian about the Crane River walk that extends to Heathrow from Twickenham - I wrote up about it some where here -

for London and probably other places the Cartograph map viewer ( available for Apple and Android for a few £, the OFFLINE maps are free) with the Elevelo map style shows cycle paths etc nicely. This is the start of the Waterlink Way in Beckenham London. Easy to follow with a gps

Yes. Search my posts but summary: city section ok but the tarmac is deteriorating, while the country section is for devotees of sand and dirt while most tourists and utility riders would be better on Hellesdon Low Road, Reepham Road and Norwich Road, except for the bridge over the outer outer ring road (Broadland Northway). It's from the "dual network fallacy" era. I disagree with the book that sections 2 and 4 are fit for "all users" and half of 1 is debatable.
