Vulnerability isn’t danger...

Vulnerability is more to do with the likely outcome, irrespective of risk, against a certain danger which may or may not be under the control of the vulnerable person.

For instance I am in what is poetically described as the “extremely vulnerable” group wrt COVID. That doesn’t mean I have created, or can control any danger - though I have done my level best to eliminate risk wherever I can.
A shortcut has to be a challenge, otherwise it would just be the way. No situation is so dire that panic cannot make it worse.
There are two kinds of people in this world: those can extrapolate from incomplete data.
