Roads and cyclepaths with appropriate names
Roads and cyclepaths with appropriate names
There is a lot of talk on here and in the media about cycle lanes but here's a question for you all, does anyone know of a Cycle Lane (or similar), ie a street by that name in the vein of Railway Road, Ship Street, Wagon Way?
Convention? what's that then?

Re: Cycle Lane
There is an " Every St " round the back of Piccadilly Station in Manchester . cycle down it and you could claim to have cycled down Every Street in Manchester.

Percussive maintainance, if it don't fit, hit it with the hammer.

And one in Liverpool... I first heard that teasing riddle in about 1957!

Re: Roads and cyclepaths with appropriate names
When I first started working for the Govt, my job was to check farmer’s subsidy claims against maps to ensure that they were claiming the correct area. We had 1:2500 paper maps for the whole of the East Midlands, to assist with this task. We came across many strange street names and started keeping a list of them. Among the ones I can remember were:
Spanker Lane
Flesh Hovel Lane near Quorn, Leics.
Borrow Bread Lane in Bleasby, Notts.
