I like to put them on, tuck my arms into my t-shirt and stomp around pretending to be a tyrannosaurus.

I've found Grip Grab windproof gloves very good once the temperature is too cold for mitts. They aren't waterproof, but stay warm even when wet. I have some thicker Sealskinz but hardly ever use them since getting the Grip Grabs.
