Boris nearly killed whilst cycling

I think the fact that Boris was cycling is irrelevant here and I'm not quite sure why the article puts such a focus on it. When a truck hurls a car out in front of you it doesn't make much difference how you're travelling. Would the article get as many hits if the headline read "Boris nearly killed whilst walking", "Boris nearly killed whilst jogging" or "Boris nearly injured whilst driving"?

According to the postings on the Bikeradar site the Daily Mail has one of the cyclists saying Boris noticed the back doors were secured with coat hangers!
