Post by ronyrash »

"riding out of laos"(tune a bit like len cohens suzanne)
Cycling out 0f laos,whatl i do now?
got a week to gain for i climb aboard the plane.
ive been to the Talat had fish and kow niow
and im wondering what to do Cycling out of Laos

sabadee in the morning, sabadee noon and night.
all the smiling faces to my sences bring delight,
and when they eat their mangoes, and ride the buffalow
ill be right their with them though im Cycling out of Laos

the safron robes at Tacbak go quietly among
the villages and temples beside the old Mekong
and when they blow their conches and venerate the cow.
ill be with the butterflies cycling out of Laos

Talat=market,kow neeow=sticky rice,sabadee=hello.Tacbak=morning collection of afferings

Did JOGLE this year and besides catching myself having little mental conversations with myself (more so as the trip went on) did find great amusement in silently singing to myself a Billy Connelly ditty he came out with on one of his on the box things years ago

‘All my life I’ve been kissing your left tit because the other ones missing, o boy when I’m with you o boy’

Just those few words, every now and again they’d pop into my head and every time I’d be smiling away to myself
Quite puerile I know and I’d like to say I’m over it now – but I still find it amusing
Graham

There is only one ‘end’ and I’m in no great hurry to reach it

As I ride I trike, I ended up singing "3 wheels on my wagon" when I had a punture.

The one I tend to sing as I cycle along is "Inner Universe", the opening song of first season of Ghost In the Shell.

Luck ............ :D

"A charming young daughter of the vicar's (steady - wait for it!)
Was experiencing trouble with her clickers
She pulled and she pushed
Til she was completly bushed
But kept getting grease on her - and this is where I'm completely stuck for the rhyme!"

"The concrete and the clay beneath my feet begin to crumble" pops into my mind occasionally during my commute along ropy cycle track. I did think it was the follow-up to Glenn Campbell's "I'm a Limestone Cowboy", but turns out it was by Unit 4 plus 2

Oh and then there's "I lost my heart to a draft excluder" with Sarah Brightman and Hot Gossip (but I'm showing my age!)
