dog dazers
dog dazers
I cycle every day on sustrans route 5 -the beautiful north Wales coastal path. The path is a well marked section of the promenade but I find that the particular part of the prom is very popular with dog walkers and,of course, the dogs are nearly always off lead resulting in frequent 'incidents'. I am thinking about buying a 'dog dazer' Do they work-any comment welcome
Re:dog dazers
They were issued to meter readers by my region of British Gas some years back. Response was that they worked on some dogs, but not on others. Consequently they could not be relied on, and the experiment was discontinued. Maybe they deter timid dogs with good hearing for the high frequencies used, but don't work with the rest. Personally I rely on my trusty Fox40 whistle around my neck - it certainly puts the fear of God into the dog's owners, who after all are the ones responsible for causing the problem!
Re:dog dazers
thanks for the reply-I will certainly get a good loud whistle and try it
