Daytime lights on pedal cycles

Only one light is lit on the turning side. So do you think you can reliably tell the difference between SAE Yellow (modern indicators - ECE stopped using amber years ago) and the yellowy warm-white daytime lights? I hope you don't discover you're wrong in practice because that could be painful!

Never seen them, they're always bluey white ime.

Plenty of current cars still use yellowy incandescent lights for daytime running lights. Fiat 500 for example. Look a few up on https://am-application.osram.info/en

But yeah, easily. Not only can I tell the difference via colour but the light physically moves. Audi's for example turn off the DLR and the indicator animates instead in a physically different position.

So it's a different colour, in a different place and is animating to boot!

On some cars, maybe. They're pretty rare IME, much rarer than those with similar-colour solid lights right next to each other.

It reminds me of a conversation I once had were someone claimed that folk who only had monochromatic vision wouldn't be safe using traffic lights!

You know of other cars that turn off the side that's indicating? Genuine question, I've only ever seen it on an Audi.

Now the rear of cars I do have problems with. Small indicators hidden in the middle of clusters of closely packed lights - particularly when braking!

Lots of new cars should, to comply with United Nations E/ECE/324/Rev.1/Add.47/Rev.12 Regulation 48 section 6.19.7. The main exception is where the lights are more than 2 inches apart and not part of the same electrical connections, but are there many like that?
