Rickshaws on the telly this morning.

London cabbies claiming they're dangerous, which I do believe as some of the rickshaws are not properly licensed, insured or even roadworthy.

I suggest TFL go visit Frankfurt.

Yes I saw that feature and to be fair to the taxi drivers I don't feel that London is the right environment for the rickshaws and as the chap said they should really belong in the theme parks and seaside promenades.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-14691136 The road safety campaigner isnt named on-screen. I presume he's the IAM guy.

However the pertinent questions should be what are the stats actually like? How do they compare to taxis and buses? I'm not sure registration would do anything but drive them off the road. Consumers should feel safe and know that the vehicle is road worthy, and any "driver" should pass on any details as to insurance if they have it.
